Cathleen Wu holds a Master degree of Business Administrationfrom Shanghai Jiaotong University. She is a seasoned professional with 25 years working experience: most recent 3 years as a HR consultant, coach and facilitator, 19 years’ proven experience in corporate HR field and another 6 years’ experience in engineering in her early career.
Cathleen’s corporate experience spans various industries including semiconductor, IT, electronics, FMCG and professional services and her former employers included MNCs, JVs and private company with very different corporate cultures. She had worked with Citicorp, Emerson Electric, Philips, Huahong-NEC and Asia Business Corporation responsible for full range of HR functions to support diverse business needs such as new business/operation start-up, HR transitions and HR system upgrading in dealing with changes in top management, business model and M&A or divestment.
She is well versed in talent management and development areas such as compensation & benefit, organization development,leadership & talent development, employee relation, recruiting & staffing and performance management while strategically strong in big-picture thinking and cross-function integration to attract, motivate, develop and engage talents so that she can deliver exceptional value to businesses and talents, her internal customers. Thanks to her customer-centric approach, she had earned respect and support from both the leadership team and talents wherever she led her HR role.
Originated from her passion for people and leadership development, she is keen to contribute to the success of her client organizations through her consultancy, coaching and training interventions. Her goal and ultimate satisfaction is to help her clients see through their top business and organization challenges and can then guide them to better positions and eventually to their success which can be measured. She is serving/has served both MNC and local clients including Henkel, Dongfeng Automobile, Mars, Pirelli Tyre, BMS, Roche, Infineum, Wuxi Apptec, Lanace Intl, SMIC and Opple Lighting on 1:1 coaching, coaching training, full scope HR consultancy andEQ development.
Cathleen is the co-author of “Strategic Change: Leadership Matters/战略性变革–领导力致胜” (published by经济科学出版社)in 2004. She has given speechesand delivered trainings to corporate clients on topics including Leader as Coach, HR as Coach, Communicator as Coach, Emotionally Intelligent Team, Corporate Culture, TalentManagement, Performance Management, Employee Relationship, HR Business Partnership and HR for Non-HR.
Cathleen is a certified coach by Marshall Goldsmith’s SCC program, a graduate from Executive Coach Certification Program of Coaching Australia and is an ICF member as a professional coach. She isa certified EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 3602.0 coach by Multi-Health System and is actively working with client companies on integrating this powerful EQ assessment and development tool in talent selection, training & development, 1:1 coaching, organization development and change management. She is also a certified career development/transition coach by American Career Development Institute (ACDI) and serves clients at various career stages on their career decisions.
Cathleen is based in Shanghai and speaks fluent Chinese and English.
